Based on the leaked specifications, the RTX 4060 Ti is not expected to be the most powerful GPU.

The Nvidia RTX 40-series continues to make waves in the world of graphics cards, with many of the higher-end GPUs already released. Team Green is expected to focus on their mid-range GPUs for their next announcements, with the RTX 4060 Ti likely to be the next GPU to be revealed in the Ada Lovelace lineup. The GPU is believed to be powered by the AD106 chip, which would make it the first desktop GPU to use this chip.

According to leaks, the RTX 4060 Ti is expected to have 4352 CUDA cores, 8GB of GDDR6 memory, and a TBP of 160W. It will reportedly be using a shorter PCB to allow for placement in smaller systems, like Intel NUC and ITX-based systems. However, it will also be using a 12 VHPWR port, which could be a drawback for some.

In terms of performance, the RTX 4060 Ti is expected to be a worthy upgrade for those still using a 10-series card. However, don’t expect RTX 4080-like performance, as it is around 26% slower than the leaked specifications of the RTX 4070. Additionally, the 8 GB of VRAM may not be enough for gaming at higher resolutions. The GPU is expected to target 1080p to 1440p performance at 60 FPS, so 4K performance is not expected.

In terms of pricing, the RTX 4060 Ti is expected to retail for around $499 USD. This is a $100 bump from the MSRP of the RTX 3060 Ti, which launched for $399. This pricing structure would also allow Nvidia to launch the vanilla RTX 4060 for under $500.

RTX 4060 Ti Release Date

The release date of the RTX 4060 Ti is expected to be in mid-2023, potentially in Summer 2023. However, it could still be a while off as more details are being learned about the GPU. The RTX 4070 is expected to be released before the RTX 4060 Ti, so it’s possible that Nvidia may want to stick with this preplanned schedule.

Based on the leaked specifications, the RTX 4060 Ti is not expected to be the most powerful GPU on the market. It has a relatively low amount of VRAM and other specs that may not be up to par with other GPUs. However, it is still expected to have a significant improvement over the RTX 3060. Until official confirmation is made, it’s difficult to make a definite judgment on whether it’s worth upgrading to.

In conclusion

The Nvidia RTX 4060 Ti is expected to be a mid-range GPU that will target 1080p to 1440p performance at 60 FPS. It may not have the strongest specifications, but it is still expected to be a worthwhile upgrade for those using a 10-series card.

The expected retail price is $499 USD, and the release date is believed to be in mid-2023. However, until official confirmation is made,  we will be on the lookout.
