Cyberpunk 2077 players moved to PC before Google shut down Stadia

Before stadia was shut down by Google on January 18, 2023, some players were able to transfer their Cyberpunk 2077 saves from the Stadia version of the game to the PC version.

Overview of Cyberpunk 2077

Developed by Polish video game developer CD Projekt, Cyberpunk 2077 is a single-player, action role-playing video game built with REDengine 4 and released for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Google Stadia back on December 10, 2020.

Cyberpunk 2077 is set in a futuristic American metropolis called “Night City”, located in the Free State of California, and follows the story of a mercenary known simply as “V”, who sets out on a mission to retrieve (steal actually) an advanced cyberware biochip technology called “the Relic” in the highly secure Arasaka Corporation. This biochip is implanted into the body, and has the potential to enhance the abilities of subjects, making it a very valuable commodity that can be weaponized.

The game features a branching narrative and an open world, allowing players to complete missions and explore the city in a non-linear manner. Cyberpunk 2077 also features a variety of customization options, allowing you to modify the appearance and abilities of the protagonist to your peculiar taste.

This video game received generally positive reviews upon release, with praise for its open world, world-building, and characters customization functions, but also received criticism for its buggy launch and a few technical issues.

Stadia has been SADLY Shut Down

Google has shut down stadia, putting a sad ending to a once great project. The shutdown occurred on January 18, 2023 which is right on schedule, as announced by Google back on September 29, 2022.

But despite the shutdown of Stadia, some players have managed to transfer their saved data from the Stadia version of the game to the PC version, allowing them to continue their journey in Night City without interruption.

How Players Transferred their Cyberpunk 2077 Saves from Stadia to PC

To those who want to know how some players were able to transfer their Cyberpunk 2077 saves from Stadia to PC, check out how it was done below:

Some players transferred their Cyberpunk 2077 saves from the Stadia version of the game to the PC version by using Google’s data management tool, “Google Takeout”, to export and download their Cyberpunk 2077 saves from Stadia.

Once the saved data is downloaded, they extracted and copied their saves into the

\Saved Games\CD Projekt Red\Cyberpunk 2077 folder on their respective PCs.

By doing so, these players were able to continue playing (on PC) from where they left off on the Stadia version of Cyberpunk 2077 video game.
